The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) wants to let everyone who receives social grants know that there have been significant modifications made to the payment schedule for May 2026.

The latest Sassa grant payment schedule for May is as follows:

  • Older Persons Grants: 4 May 2026
  • Disability Grants: 5 May 2026
  • Children’s Grants: 8 May 2026

The Sassa grant payment dates for 2026 were previously announced by Sassa, who made it plain that these were the only changes occurring at this time.

“In case there are any changes on the payment schedule,” Sassa continued, “Sassa will communicate in due course.”

Beneficiaries have been instructed by the organization to utilize their cards when making purchases rather than withdrawing all of their Sassa money. Sassa has added that recipients should also delay withdrawing their money.

In addition, recipients of social grants were urged to wait before withdrawing funds from their accounts because they would still be available when they were ready to do so, according to the statement.
