The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, or NSFAS, is a government loan and scholarship program for students. The NSFAS application and registration period for students begin later in the year, and the NSFAS closure date is often in the following calendar year.
Students from low-income and working-class backgrounds receive bursaries from NSFAS, which go beyond just covering your tuition. Through NSFAS allowances, they will also cover the cost of your registration, lodging, transportation, and books.
What then are the NSFAS specifications?
The most crucial criterion is that your annual household income be R350 000 or less. This implies that you will not be eligible if the total annual salaries of all the household members exceed R350 000.
